Discover Colombia
El
Almejal - Bahía Solano

In
our principal area we offer large extensions of natural zones adorned
with native flowers. We have 11 independent cabins, designed with
bio climatic architecture which allows them to be breezy and illuminated.
From the hammock on the terrace you can observe the jungle -- watching
hummingbirds feed, discovering the birds and butterflies of the
region, and viewing the starry sky.
We have communal areas as well. We have a whale-watching tower (30
meters, 90 feet, tall), benches on the beach, and external showers.
We took advantage of the sweet water spring where the lodge was
built to create a natural pool. The sound of the flow of water is
relaxing and harmonious.
The
menu is based on the gastronomy and culture of the Pacific with
the special spices of Alice -- an indigenous woman, native to the
area, that has been working here for 15 years, becoming the soul
of our kitchen with her smile and spirit.
The porgy and coconut sancocho (a typical Colombian
soup) or chicken sancocho and sea bass a la Milanese are just two
of the succulent meals that you can enjoy in our restaurant. We
also offer more international foods, understanding the needs and
tastes of our different guests. Our meals are served with fresh
fruit drinks (including the famous borojo -- the signature fruit
of Choco).
The principal foods are provided for us by local fisherman and farmers.
We guarantee freshness and quality. The other foods are produced
organically in our garden.
Though
we are located in a rugged area, we have permanent electricity and
an abundance of potable water. In our basic lodging service, we
also offer the following services:
Bar, telephone,
laundry, store, safety deposit box, surf board rentals, and basic
diving and fishing equipment as well as guided, interpretive tours.

| Almejal
beach is an excellent place to play beach volleyball, football,
running, and frisby. It's also a great place to go body surfing.
Near the eco lodge, you can also
visit (in boat) Utria Natural Park -- a great place to go
snorkeling and see the Cascadas River, Chando River, and
Tigre Waterfall. You can also plan fishing tours and in
whale season, go whale watching. In canoe, you can visit
the Tundó River.
Walking, you will reach the Valle
population and other attractions like: the Larga Beach waterfalls,
natural aquariums that are small pools that form in the
rocks when the tide is low where a variety of sea life is
trapped until the tide returns. There are always a variety
of colorful fish in these small pools.
IN the jungle, you can climb and rappel off the giant trees
(75 feet high) where the view of the jungle, beach, and
sea is one-of-a-kind.
Other activities include bird watching and turtle watching!
